GeoWealth has closed a $38 million Series C funding round to accelerate its unified managed account technology and expand access to blended investment portfolios combining public and private market assets for registered investment advisors.
Apollo led the financing round, joined by BlackRock, J.P. Morgan Asset Management, and Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors through a sub-advised arrangement with Composition Capital. The investment establishes a strategic alliance between GeoWealth and Apollo focused on delivering integrated public-private model portfolios to the RIA market.
Technology Platform for Modern Portfolio Construction
The fintech company operates a proprietary unified managed account platform that enables investment advisors to construct and manage custom strategies incorporating both traditional securities and alternative investments. This technology-driven approach addresses the growing demand among financial advisors for tools that can seamlessly blend different asset classes within client portfolios.
The platform’s portfolio management software allows advisors to deliver personalized investment solutions while maintaining operational efficiency across their practices. GeoWealth’s system integrates various investment vehicles through a single technology interface, streamlining what has traditionally been a complex process for advisory firms.
Strategic Partnership with Apollo
The collaboration brings together GeoWealth’s UMA technology with Apollo’s institutional-grade private market investment components. This partnership aims to democratize access to sophisticated multi-asset portfolio strategies that were previously available primarily to institutional investors.
Apollo partner and chief client and product development officer Stephanie Drescher emphasized the growing investor appetite for diversification beyond public markets. “Investors are increasingly looking beyond public markets for greater diversification and differentiated returns” Drescher said, highlighting Apollo’s commitment to expanding access to institutional-quality private market solutions.
Growth Plans and Acquisitions
The fresh capital will strengthen GeoWealth’s UMA capabilities and support continued expansion. The company plans to invest in product development and human resources while advancing innovations that broaden access to integrated public and private market solutions.
As part of the funding round, GeoWealth acquired the turnkey asset management platform assets of Freedom Advisors, expanding its capabilities and client base. This acquisition demonstrates the company’s strategy of combining organic growth with strategic purchases to scale its operations.
CEO Colin Falls outlined the company’s vision for the partnership and funding. “With Apollo joining as a strategic investor and partner, we’re accelerating our commitment to building unified public-private model portfolios” Falls said, emphasizing the focus on providing advisors with flexible technology and investment choices.
Market Demand for Alternative Access
The funding reflects broader market trends toward alternative investments among retail and high-net-worth clients served by RIAs. Traditional portfolio construction methods often separate public and private market allocations, creating complexity for advisors seeking to implement comprehensive strategies.
GeoWealth’s approach addresses this challenge by providing a unified platform that handles both asset classes through integrated technology. The company’s mission centers on helping RIAs scale their practices through improved technology infrastructure and expanded investment options.
The partnership with Apollo brings institutional-level private market expertise to the RIA channel, potentially opening new opportunities for advisors to differentiate their services. This collaboration represents a significant development in making sophisticated investment strategies more accessible to a broader range of financial advisory practices.
The Series C round positions GeoWealth to capitalize on increasing demand for technology solutions that simplify complex investment processes while expanding the range of available strategies for financial advisors and their clients.
