Veriteus secures €40k for AI fraud detection platform

Czech artificial intelligence startup Veriteus has secured a €40,000 convertible loan from Prague-based Czech Founders VC through the Sherpa accelerator programme. The funding will support the development of the company’s AI-powered fraud detection technology, which analyzes written responses, voice patterns, and video behavior to identify deceptive statements in real-time.

Multi-Modal Detection Approach

The Veriteus platform combines artificial intelligence with behavioural science principles and security industry expertise to create a comprehensive fraud detection system. The technology operates through three independent modules that can function separately or as an integrated solution, analyzing form responses, voice characteristics, and video content to flag potentially fraudulent behavior.

This multi-faceted approach allows organizations to assess risk across different communication channels, providing a more thorough evaluation than traditional single-method detection systems. Each module processes data independently, enabling customized implementation based on specific organizational requirements.

Operational Progress and Industry Testing

The startup has completed development of its first operational questionnaire analysis module and is currently conducting live testing of its voice analysis capabilities using real call centre data. This practical testing phase represents a significant milestone in validating the technology’s effectiveness in real-world scenarios.

Veriteus is running its inaugural pilot programme with a Czech insurance company, whilst simultaneously exploring collaborative opportunities with additional partners in both the insurance and security sectors. These industry partnerships provide crucial validation and feedback for refining the platform’s capabilities.

“Most decision-making in companies and security is based on intuition and routine. We’re bringing a tool that identifies risky statements in real-time – whether it’s in written responses, voice patterns, or non-verbal cues” ~ Tomas Sebesta, Chief Strategy Officer and co-founder of Veriteus Technology.

Investment Details and Backing

Czech Founders VC led the funding round as part of its Sherpa accelerator programme. The Prague-based venture capital firm specialises in supporting early-stage startups founded by Central European entrepreneurs with global market aspirations.

The investor typically provides pre-seed funding ranging from €50,000 to €350,000, focusing on founder-centric investment strategies. This funding model aligns with Veriteus’s current development stage and expansion requirements.

Development Timeline and Commercial Goals

The company aims to complete its comprehensive multimodal platform integration by the end of the current year, combining all three detection modules into a unified system. This timeline coincides with plans to finalize their first commercial deployment, marking the transition from pilot testing to full market entry.

The funding will enable Veriteus to accelerate development of the integrated solution whilst expanding testing capabilities across additional industry verticals. The focus remains on delivering a robust platform that can serve diverse organisational requirements for fraud detection and risk assessment.
