WizCommerce raises $8M Series A to replace wholesale’s legacy software with AI

The AI-powered sales and ecommerce platform is building an operating system for wholesale distributors, backed by Peak XV Partners.

WizCommerce, a U.S.-based AI-powered sales and ecommerce platform for wholesale distributors, has raised $8 million in a Series A round led by Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia India & SEA), with continued participation from existing investors.

The startup is targeting what it sees as outdated, patchwork systems that still dominate wholesale—from spreadsheets to slow ordering portals. WizCommerce says its platform replaces these with AI-driven workflows, spanning quoting, storefront personalization, and automated product content.

Over 700 sales reps and more than 300,000 buyers already use WizCommerce across categories including home décor, lighting, gifts, and general merchandise. Customers include category leaders like Loloi Rugs, Jaipur Living, Arteriors Home, and Sagebrook Home.

We didn’t raise this round to patch a broken system, we raised it to erase the old way entirely” said Div Makkar, co-founder and CEO of WizCommerce. “Wholesale doesn’t need more tools, it needs a smarter operating system. In a few years, AI will be core to how this industry moves: orders will write themselves, content will be auto-generated, and reps will have superpowers. That’s the future we’re building

The company recently launched two AI products: Kai, an AI-powered sales assistant, and WizStudio, an AI lifestyle image generator. With the new funding, WizCommerce plans to expand its AI workforce offerings for both back-office and front-office functions.

What stands out is how consistently WizCommerce earns praise from both reps and buyers” said Rishen Kapoor, VP at Peak XV Partners. “It’s uncommon to see a platform improve internal workflows and customer experience at once. With hundreds of reps and thousands of buyers already using it, WizCommerce is on track to become a core part of the wholesale tech stack

Industry partners also highlight its early impact. “Their AI features have made a huge difference to our reps and customers. It’s making our reps more proactive and increasing conversions” said Justin Kachan, CEO of Sagebrook Home.

The company sees an opportunity to help wholesalers protect margins amid rising tariffs, freight costs, and operational inefficiencies, positioning AI as the foundation for profitable growth in a fragmented sector.
